The Return of the Servers... |
 |
Good news for all, the TeamSpeak servers will be returning soon. And by soon I mean as soon as you want (kind of). Submit a request for a server and you will get details for your server. These servers are very high quality and should be extremely reliable, so only request one if you need it and will really use it. Please review the Free TeamSpeak Hosting information page here. I would ask for now that you have at least 10 people that will use the server on a regular basis, that doesn't mean there have to always be 10 people in it, but the same 10 people login usually once every day. If you don't meet that requirement or aren't sure be honest, let us know your situation and if we can still provide you with a server, which we most likely will be able to, we would be glad to do so. However if you don't say anything we will assume you meet the requirement and if we notice a lack of use may shut your server down. So tell us whats up and give us a good reason why you need a server. All this can be done on the Free TeamSpeak request page here.
Perl Bot Hosting is now also available and it's a great way to support ResoluteGamers.net! Click here for more information about Perl Bot Hosting or to purchase one for your server.

TeamSpeak Servers |
 |
I woke up this morning and was told that the service I am paying for to host the TeamSpeak servers will no longer be providing hosting. On top of this bad news, when I asked when they would be offline I was told, "today or tomorrow." Because of this short notice it is possible that you may experience some down time. I am looking for other hosting options, but it took me a month and a lot of wasted money before I found the one that worked best and I ended up using, ironically the service then shut down after I used it for only a month. The only good news is that as soon as I heard the servers would be offline today or tomorrow I hurried to backup all the existing TeamSpeaks and currently have that backup safe with me.
There are two obvious solutions that I see, and it is up to you, readers of this news and people who care, to decide what I should do. First, I can host the servers from my home. This is free to do, but it is likely that they will be unreliable and thinking optimistically I would estimate that they would have an uptime of 75%. If you need a reliable server you might be interested in the second option, I can purchase another server and restore the backups to it and the only change would be the IP address. The problem with this is that it costs money and no one has stepped forward to make a donation or even purchase a Perl Bot which means I am left to pay for the servers that you use. In order for me to feel motivated to purchase another server for the TeamSpeaks I need to see other members stepping forward to help financially. I am not asking for a lot, a few people donating a little bit of money helps a lot. I am not making a profit from this, in fact I am losing money, all donations go towards paying server costs. If you are interested in making a donation towards purchasing a new server for TeamSpeaks please let me know, you can private message me on the site, email me admin@resolutegamers.net, create a support ticket, talk to me on MSN at beantier@gmail.com or pull me aside in TeamSpeak; I will be more than willing to talk to you and explain the situation/answer questions if you would like and everyone that benefits from the services will be very grateful. If you don't have any questions and just wanna help out by donating some money you can always click the donate button on resolutegamers.net. If you don't have PayPal but are interested then let me know and we can work something out. Anyone who donates will be guaranteed a server as long as we can provide them and will surely be seen as a respected member in my mind if not by the whole community.
So there it is, I can try to host the servers for free from my house, or we can work together and purchase another dedicated server for the TeamSpeaks. I guess a third option is that we can no longer provide free TeamSpeak hosting. If no one is interested in donating and I am unable to host them from my house then the service will be discontinued. I am not making a threat, I am telling you where we stand so you can be informed.

If you need help... |
 |
Hopefully you haven't noticed, but some of you may have, I have been away for a while and will continue to be away for at least a week. This means I will have limited access to the internet. While I will probable be checking email accounts and this site at least once a day, the time I spend online is greatly reduced. If you need assistance or have any problems you should create a support ticket or send me an email. If the trouble is urgent and you need immediate help I would suggest you contact Gavin via the forums, TeamSpeak, or gavin@resolutegamers.net on MSN or through email. Chances are he will be able to help you, but if he isn't he can contact me directly. Hopefully things run smoothly, I'm just letting you know this in case there are any problems.
If you submit a TeamSpeak request you may not receive a reply for about a week. I will do my best, but I have to validate each of the request individually to make sure we can provide the best hosting possible. A few people have submitted requests with little or no information as to why we should host a server for them. They received an email asking for more information as to why we should provide them with a free server. If this happens to you or you are one of these people do not create a new request, please follow the instructions in the email and supply more adequate information as defined in the email.

TeamSpeak Server Change |
 |
I'll make this short and sweet since it's late and this is important. Basically, if your server IP is 64.93.146.7 change it to 66.96.254.102. I backed up the servers on 64.93.146.7 this morning and moved them to 66.96.254.102. The servers on IP 64.93.146.7 will only be online for another two weeks at the most, feel free to continue using those servers until then, but I will not do a more recent backup for you, so it is best that you switch now. All users, channels, and everything is the same, its an exact copy of your current server as of about 10 AM this morning. If you have any questions please create a support ticket. If your server is not on either 64.93.146.7 or 66.96.254.102 it will be offline within the next month, so apply for a new server today. If it is on one of those two you should be good to go. Any questions, just ask.

PerlBots |
 |
ResoluteGamers.net now provides PerlBot hosting for a very, very low cost. In addition to this, all money raised from the sale of PerlBots will directly benefit the free TeamSpeak hosting service. Money will be used to purchase or upgrade servers the TeamSpeaks are running on, allowing for MUCH more reliable and faster servers and better connection speeds (less lag). The free TeamSpeak servers that are hosted by ResoluteGamers.net are still 100% free. You do not have to purchase a PerlBot to get or keep any TeamSpeak server we host. PerlBots are an additional luxury that require a lot of time to configure and an additional server to run them off of, therefore we believe offering the TeamSpeaks for free is generous enough and providing PerlBots for each server in addition to this would be overdoing our niceness ;) We hope that you understand and consider purchasing a PerlBot for your server. For more information click here. PerlBots are currently available for only $2 per month. There is, however, an initial $3 configuration/setup fee. Once this $3 fee is paid, you will never have to pay it again. This means even if you get a different server, your IP address changes, or you want to make changes to the configuration. Once the initial configuration is complete it is much easier to make changes to things like the IP address it is running on, what the welcome message says, or how often the advert is displayed. For more information on the PerlBot or to find out everything it is capable of click here.

Member Photo Albums |
 |
I installed a mod that allows members to create photo albums, I don't know that I like this feature, so please help out and test this feature out to see if it's worth keeping.
Please create an album or two and add a few pictures to it. Then view other's albums and post your comments here (onto this news article) thanks!
Edit: Member photo albums have been removed. My goal is to keep this site as basic as possible and for most of the content to be in the forums. No members tried the photo albums and I received no comments about them, so they have been removed.

Public RS TeamSpeak Server Down |
 |
Many of you have noticed by now, the Public Chat TeamSpeak server for RuneScape (84.19.182.29:8766) has been offline. This server is the only server not hosted by ResoluteGamers, all of the TeamSpeak servers hosted by ResoluteGamers.net should be online and working. At this time I am not sure when server 84.19.182.29:8766 will be back online, I have contacted the hoster, but have not yet received a response. In the meantime you can use the Public Resolute Gamers server: 209.190.75.110:8767. As soon as the Public RuneScape TS is back online this post will be updated, so check back here or just keep trying to connect every so often. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you experience any problems with a server hosted by ResoluteGamers.net please contact teamspeak@resolutegamers.net for now, I am working on a support system, but it isn't done yet and I can't be sure when it will be. Thanks.
EDIT: Server is online!

Email Confirmation & Admins/Mods |
 |
Email confirmation is now required when registering a new account. This is for security issues and problems we had with bots spamming. The problems have been taken care of, but to avoid future problems we now require you confirm your email address to create a new account. If you believe this process is too much hassle or should not be required please speak your mind and post a comment to this article.
As the site is growing we will be needing new admins or mods, as of now there is no one I would clearly choose based on involvement, so if you're dying to be a mod or admin you should step up your game and start posting more on the forums.
